design is oscommerce based, although tayloring by monarch-webdesign.co.uk
has made it unrecognisable from the basic oscommerce design.
The store has an attractive theme which immediately and firmly states
whats on offer to browsers and prospecitve buyers.
We think its a great improvement on the original, and so does our client
Peter White, it is fully hosted by ourselves, along with the necessary mysql
database for the back office and it runs on php 5 scripting.
Customers have the option of paying through Paypal standard, which avoids
the need for separate ssl certification, and a further option allows for
payments by cheque or money order.
This store template was created to suit Orchids by Peter White, who was
already using an oscommcerce store, but wanted something with more appeal,whilst
this is our
own creation, it still runs an oscommerce back office. so in this case not
fully an off the peg solution.
Obviously because it is one of our bespoke web designs created in our own
studio, especially for our client, yet still running onoscomerce scripting the final cost reflects the time it took
to produce a taylored fully operational website; yet still coming in

We have chosen another of our clients from a similar industry to show that a
full blown ecommerce site is not a necessity to sell your products on line.
Laneside Hardy Orchids have a stable portfolio of products, whcih change
little over time, as a sole trader he was pressed for time, working from an
off the peg website template, we produced a hard coded store for him which
does from time to time require our attention, but Laneside are happy with
this arrangement.
Interestingly the website paid for itself within the first three weeks of
going live.
